How to Calculate Negative Marking in DDCET Exam?
Here's a breakdown of how negative marking works in the DDCET:
- Marks for correct answers: Each correct answer is awarded 2 marks.
- Marks for incorrect answers: For each wrong answer, 0.5 (1/2)marks will be deducted.
- Multiple answers for one question: For darkening more than one option in OMR sheet for one question, 0.5 (1/2) marks will be deducted
- Un attempted questions: Unanswered questions will have zero marks.
- "E" option for not attempting: The OMR sheet provides an "E" option for questions you choose not to answer, which will avoid any negative marking.
Formula is :
Final Score = (Number of Correct Answers × Marks per Question) -
(Number of Incorrect Answers × Marks per Question × Marks Deducted per Incorrect Answer)
Example:
- The maximum marks in DDCET Exam are 200, and the total number of questions is 100.
- Total Questions attempted. For example, you attempted 92 questions.
- Suppose you found that your 12 answers are wrong.
- Now the total number of correct questions will be 92-12=80.
- Each question carries 2 marks for every correct answer.
- There is 0.5 of negative marking in DDCET Exam, then 2×0.5= 1.0 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- For 80 right questions, your score will be 80×2=160
- For 12 wrong answers, your negative score will be 12×1=12 marks.
- Final Score = (80 * 2) - (12 * 2 * 0.5) = 160 - 12 = 148
The final score out of a total of 200 will be 160-12=148.
